Weiss Lake is known as the "Crappie Capital of the World". The Coosa, Chattooga and Little Rivers feed Weiss Lake, which has more than 447 miles of shoreline and shallow flats with underwater drop-offs and large coves. The Alabama Power Company owns the 30,200 acre lake, which powers the hydro-electric plant located there.
