Audiometers (Medical Tool)
Audiometers are really a medical tool that is used in hospitals and certain types can be used at home, their main function is the evaluation of hearing loss.
A man named Dr.
Harvey Fletcher is generally credited with the invention of this machine.
Harvey used to attend Brigham Young University.
ENT Clinics and Audiology centers are the main places you will find the devices used, (Audiology is the name given to the branch of science that studies balance, hearing and other related disorders).
The machine usually consists of a feedback button and headphones that are in turn connected to an embedded hardware unit, a standard PC often handles the control of these machines.
There are certain requirements that an Audiometer must conform to, these test procedures and requirements are clearly specified in ISO 8253, IEC 60645 and ANSI S3.

These can calibrated to 1/10 of a Db making them the perfect option for Industrial Audiometric Testing.
