How To Remove Inner Ear Fluid

    • 1). Lean your head to the side that the fluid is on. Press your hand tight against your ear, forming a seal.

    • 2). Swallow several times, as this can cause your ears to "pop" and release the fluid. Use your palm as a plunger to help pull the fluid out of the inner ear. This may take care of the problem. If not, proceed to step 3.

    • 3). Lie down with the affected ear facing upward. Use a cotton swab to place a few drops of alcohol in the affected ear. Alcohol helps evaporate and remove fluids. This of course will make the ear feel even more filled with fluid for a few minutes.

    • 4). Wait 5 to 10 minutes and place a towel over your ear before sitting up and leaning to the affected side. Allow the alcohol and any fluid that is released drain onto the towel.

    • 5). Repeat if necessary every hour for up to 4 hours. Depending on how long the fluid has been in your ear, this should take care of the problem.
