How to Use the Ballot Box to Vote
- 1). Cast your vote inside the voting booth. You'll be provided with a pen or a marker. Some polling places will have electronic methods of voting using a paper ballot.
- 2). Fold the ballot so your vote is concealed.
- 3). Stand in line to officially cast your vote.
- 4). Slide your ballot through the opening of the ballot box. The box should be sealed tightly to prevent voter fraud.
- 5). Get your receipt. Many polling places will give voters a ticket or electronic receipt as proof that your vote went in. This also helps pollsters gather information on voting numbers.
