The 5 things to do before you sail with RCI

101 16
You have booked your cruise and you are ready to set sail. There are just a few things left to organise.

There are the last few things to do:
  1. Provide your passport details.

Before you travel, you will need to provide passport details for yourself and anyone travelling with you. We'll need the following details for everyone in your party, so make sure you have them to hand:

Passport Number

Country of issue

Passport expiry date

Full name (as appears on passport) including middle names

Gender

Date of birth

Nationality
  1. Check-in online

To speed up the boarding process, we strongly recommend you check-in for your cruise on-line. You can do this anytime, from the day you book until 3 days before departure, although we advise you do it as soon as possible after booking. You should allow 15-20 minutes for the entire process, and you will need your passport details to hand. The Frequently Asked Questions Section (FAQ) on our website includes a help guide for online check-in.
  1. Book Shore Excursions

Shore excursions are a great way to explore our fascinating ports of call, or try out our new activities. They do fill up very fast, so we recommend you book early to avoid disappointment. When you log in to Countdown to cruise, you will find plenty of useful information about the ports you'll be visiting and the excursions on offer so do make sure you take a look. Shore excursions are usually available to book from 5 months before your cruise, but they cannot be booked from five days before you sail out. Instead you would have to wait until you're on board, so we recommend pre-booking to ensure you get the ones you want.

  1. Book Add On's

If you are celebrating a special occasion on board, or just fancy a treat, then you will be spoiled for choice. How about surprising someone with stateroom decorations, or a bouquet of flowers? Or treat yourself to a pampering spa treatment? All of these special little treats can be booked on the Countdown to Cruise Pre Cruise Planner. Cruise add on's can usually be booked from around 4 months before departure, but they can book up pretty quickly so we recommend you purchase as soon as possible.
  1. Request Tag Luggage

You will need to request your luggage tags at least ten days before you sail to allow us time to post them out to you. Royal Caribbean's new luggage tag programme provides you with a personalised luggage tag with your cruise ticket. You may also be able to order bag tags from our website to be delivered by post, depending on your ship and sailing date.
