Can Wrinkles in a Vinyl Pool be Fixed?
- Remove small wrinkles by using a standard toilet plunger. Place the plunger above, below or to the side of the wrinkle and plunge several times. Do not plunge directly on the wrinkle, as the suction may possibly deepen it. You may need to use the plunger on different areas around the wrinkle in order to remove it. In some instances, you may need to gradually plunge away from the wrinkle to an edge of the pool, in order to draw the wrinkle away and smooth out the excess vinyl.
If your vinyl pool has multiple wrinkles, or wrinkles that are so large that the material is folding over or in upon itself, you may need to drain the pool and re-seat the vinyl lining. Contact a pool servicing professional for this job, as improperly draining or re-seating of a pool can cause irreparable damage. - Prevent wrinkles from forming in your vinyl pool or pool's vinyl liner by keeping an eye on the vinyl liner as the pool is filling with water. Move the liner around to work out wrinkles as water is being added to the pool. The weight of the water will generally push the liner to the floor and against the walls, and if you pull the liner out and away from wrinkles as the liner begins to settle, you'll eliminate wrinkles.
