How to Check to See if Your Bankrupty Was Dismissed
- 1). Give your attorney a call. Your attorney will have information about your bankruptcy case. Wait for your attorney to gather the necessary information regarding a bankruptcy dismissal. When you find out about the dismissal, your attorney will be able to offer some possible recommendations or solutions.
- 2). Call the bankruptcy trustee. Anyone who files a bankruptcy will be assigned a trustee, who will preside over or administer bankruptcy cases. They find out if there are any assets in the case that can be sold. A trustee can initiate a dismissal by filing a motion if there are discrepancies.
- 3). Call the bankruptcy clerk of courts where the bankruptcy was filed. The phone will be listed on any paperwork you have from the courts. Your attorney will also have the phone number. Give the clerk of courts your case number, and she will be able to tell you if your bankruptcy has been dismissed.
