How to View Cape Launch From TGO
- 1). Look online for the space-shuttle launch schedule. The NASA website has a listing of all scheduled shuttle and rocket launches for the upcoming year. Make note of the launches taking place at Cape Canaveral or the Kennedy Space Center, since those are the only ones visible from TGO.
- 2). Select a launch date that will work with your schedule. Having at least three preferred dates in mind will give you a better chance of securing a reservation.
- 3). Call The Great Outdoors at 1-800-621-2267 to make a reservation for one of the dates you selected. Daily, weekly or monthly rates are available. The summer (May 1-Oct. 31) is considered off-season for the park, so ask about specials during this time period.
- 4). Drive to TGO in your RV. Find your reserved spot and settle in.
- 5). Walk to an open area where you have an unobstructed view of either Cape Canaveral or the Kennedy Space Center at the time of the scheduled launch. Sit or stand and watch the launch.
