How to Resize a Picture in Adobe
- 1). Open your Adobe graphics program. Click on the "File" drop-down menu in the upper-left corner of the menu bar and select "Open." Browse your computer and locate the picture with which you want to work. Select the image to open it in Adobe.
- 2). Click on the "Image" drop-down menu and select "Image Size" to open the Image Size pop-up window. Ensure that "Constrain Proportions" is checked at the bottom of the Image Size window if you want the resized image to maintain the same proportions as the original. Leave this button unchecked if you want to distort the image.
- 3). The "Pixel Dimensions" section at the top of the Image Size window displays the width and height of your image in pixels or as a percentage. Type in new pixel width or height numbers, or use the drop-down to alter your image size by percentage. Click on "OK" to resize the image.
- 1). Browse to the photo you want to crop, and open the file in Adobe. Click on the "Crop" icon in the tools palette. This activates the Crop toolbar. If desired, type in the pixel width and height to define a specific size for the crop tool.
- 2). Click on the picture in the "Layers" palette to make it active. Drag the crop tool across the image to select the approximate area you want to include in the image.
- 3). In the Crop toolbar, change the color of the excluded area. Lessen the opacity of the excluded area for a clearer view of what you are including and excluding.
- 4). Refine the cropped area by adjusting the four arrows at the corners of the rectangular selection. Click on the check mark in the Crop toolbar to finalize your crop. Save your image.
