Hi, I'm Wendy Russo with Coach Wendy's Fitness 4u and I'm gonna show you how to strengthen your traps. I've got my barbell's setup in a squat rack. I've got safety collars on and I can also do these with dumbbells but today we're gonna do the barbell shrug. The first thing I will do is grab my bar with a shoulder width grip so my arms are hanging straight down from my shoulders. I don't want them hanging over my legs. I don't want them hanging way outside of my legs I want them hanging straight down from my shoulders. I'll pickup the bar. From there I'm gonna lift my traps like I don't know. I don't know that's basically shrugging your shoulders. I don't know. You see a lot of people going forward, backwards, rolling. That's bad. 1, 2,1,2,1,2 , and that is how you strengthen your traps.
