How to Cancel an iPhone Plan
- 1). Call your wireless service provider. Do not call from your iPhone. They will ask you call back from a different handset. You can reach AT&T at 800-888-7600. Verizon's phone number is 800-922-0204.
- 2). Explain why you'd like to cancel. Service providers hate losing customers. They'll likely try to pitch you to stay. Remain firm, however, until they agree to discontinue your service.
- 3). Pay any related fees. As of the time of publication, AT&T charges $325 if your iPhone was purchased on or after June 1, 2010, minus $10 for each full month of your service. It's $150, minus $4 each full month, for iPhones purchased before June 1. Verizon charges $350.
- 4). Decide what to do with your service-less iPhone. Selling it on Craig's List or eBay is the most obvious option. But if you're feeling generous, pass it along to a friend or family member.
