Purpose

• Since most electrical wires are hidden in walls or inside machines, create a simple project to show students exactly how electricity works. Dismantle a flashlight to demonstrate how electricity is conducted when the button is pushed down.
  
  

Examples

• Electric bulb experiments may vary greatly based upon the student's age and grade level. Examples include lighting a bulb using saltwater, lemon juice, or spinning magnets. Other sample experiments are testing which bulb lasts the longest or which one is the most difficult to break.
  
  

Considerations

• Official science fair projects must have detailed and accurate information. Keep in mind that someone should be able to replicate your project exactly from your notes and reports. Iinclude information such as the brand names of the electric bulbs since this may factor greatly into the accuracy of your project.
