    Cookbooks

    • Send letters home with your students explaining that the school will be raising money by selling cookbooks. Be sure to specify what the money will go toward. In the letters that are sent home, ask for parents to send in favorite recipes. You might want to use a template that includes the title of the recipe, the ingredients, the procedure and the author/chef. Once the students bring in the recipes, you can publish your book. Various websites such as Cookbookprinting.com and Cookbookpublishers.com are helpful as far as the publishing process. Once the books are published and printed, have the students sell them to family members and friends. You might want to reward the children who sell the most books or who bring in the most recipes.

    CDs

    • Record your students' musical talents onto a CD and sell them to members of the community. If your school has recording equipment, you might be able to do this yourself. If not, talk with musicians in your area to see if someone might have the equipment and ability to do this for you. Record larger groups such as chorus and band, as well as smaller groups such as homeroom classes. Copy the CDs and place them in a CD container with an attractive sleeve (which you can design using various printing software). Enlist students to sell the CDs and offer an incentive, such as a pizza party, to the class that sells the most.

    School Spirit Products

    • Sell various products to promote school spirit among students, parents and teachers. Items that fall into this category include T-shirts, pom-poms, megaphones, bumper stickers, signs and noisemakers. Websites such as Schoolfundraisingproducts.com offer a variety of products that you can order with custom colors and designs to represent your school. You also may be able to use local businesses for items such as T-shirts. Get the students to sell these products, and enlist local businesses to donate prizes for the highest sellers.
