How to Make a Top Hat Illustration
- 1). Draw a horizontal oval to form the top of the top hat.
- 2). Draw a larger horizontal oval to form the brim of the top hat. Try to make the oval at least double the length of the top. Make sure it's directly centered underneath the smaller oval. Leave enough space between the two ovals to make the hat appear tall.
- 3). Draw one vertical line starting at the edge of the smaller oval and extending downward until it touches the larger oval. Repeat on the other side of the small oval to complete the basic top-hat outline.
- 4). Shade in the outline of your top hat to blend away the lines. Add details such as a ribbon around the brim, a flower on the side or any other creative pieces to the hat.
