    • 1). Click the Paintbrush tool from the vertical toolbar on the left. The icon resembles a paintbrush and is located just under the Shape tool. If you cannot see this toolbar, click Window in the menu bar and select Tools to reveal it.

    • 2). Adjust the attributes of your paintbrush tool using the toolbar under the menu bar. Increase the Stroke value to increase the thickness of your brush. Lower the Opacity value if you want to make the stroke more transparent. Tinker with the other options on the toolbar if you want to change the style of the brush.

    • 3). Click Window in the menu bar and select Color to bring up the color selection panel, where you'll see two small boxes, one overlapping the other. Click the lower right box so that it overlaps the upper left box. Use the three color sliders to get the brush color you like or choose a color from the RGB spectrum bar on the bottom of the panel.

    • 4). Click anywhere on the canvas and move the mouse cursor around the canvas while holding the left mouse button to draw as if with a brush.
