Seeing Uspallata in Mendoza
Our friends at the Diplomatic Hotel have recommended us to visit Uspallata, in the Department of Las Heras in the province of The Area. This metropolis is about 2000 m above sea level and is the provincial reference site for all those who love excursions in the mounts. Uspallata is in a vale between the mounts and piedmont of the Andean String. For this reason, it is commonly the point mountain climbers who aspire to climb one of the most representative mounts of Cuyo go, the Aconcagua, or Overo volcano. It was at this very positioning where the film "Seven Years in Tibet" was shot, starring Brad Pitt, and settled in the Himalayas.
The town of Uspallata provides multiple options for touristry in The Region. Some miles away is Mount Aconcagua Provincial Park, which seeks to save this representative mount. Inside this national park you can visit the Inca Bridge, a strange rock formation settled 27 m above the River Caves. In this townsfolk it is possible to visit a large hot spring, and the enchanting scenery, filled with fantastic colors that the mineral composition of stones is responsible for adorning.
The Caves is some other fascinating point, merely 88 kilometers from Uspallata, which holds unbelievable treasures for the tourer to see. One of these places of interest is the memorial to Christ the Redeemer. This monument, simbolizing a big Christ giving his blessing with a cross on his right hand, was set up in 1904 to commemorate the union between Argentina and Chile. From here, a few kilometres, you may get at the Cristo Redentor iternational passage, placed about 3200 meters above sea level, and is one of the main routes between Argentina and Chile.
In the village of Las Cuevas, you may find a beautiful village with small houses built in Nordic and Scandinavian fashion, made of tmiber and stone. In the River Caves, you can practice rafting and kayaking. Here also lies the international rail corridor that joins Argentina with Chile.
