Your Viewpad 7 Tablet PC Review

First impression on this tablet is WOW! As a final point we now have an android centered tablet with all the characteristics, features and overall performance wrapped into 1 unique. The ViewPad 7 can be a 7 inch tablet Personal computer, full using a solid packaging, 512MB internal ram & memory, running on android 2.2 (speedy fast!) with entire market access. I've had the pleasure of messing around with it a bit, so here are my first thoughts:

Operating System & CPU Overall performance: 4/5

Seeing how the processor is usually a mere 600 MHz CPU, I was expecting at minimum a little lag time, delays, choppiness on games, etc. To my surprise. none. A lot of this has to do with Android 2.2 software being really quick, light and optimized, but no matter what task I threw at this tablet it handled with ease. Multitasking also works amazing, I had a session of Angry Birds and Chess open both at the same time with not much negative effect!

Touch Screen: 5/5

The ViewPad 7 incorporates a vividly clear, 7 inch capacitive (extremely responsive) screen with multi-touch functionality. This screen is wonderful, g-sensor works quick and accurate for tilting, and there are tons of built in multi-touch extras (rotation of objects, pinch zoom in/out, preview swiping of photos & files, etc.). I couldn't ask for more out of a 7 inch tablet screen.

Battery Life: 3/5

Battery will final 4-6 hours of continuous heavy usage, not bad, but not stellar either. It does however have around 60 hours of standby time; this is useful for being on the move. I can't quite say it failed my battery expectations, but it falls in line with most laptop computer battery overall performance - would be nicer if it could handle a little more runtime.

Connectivity & Storage: 2.5/5

Connectivity wise, this tablet is on par: USB connectors, headphones, micro SD and SIM card slot. This unit is currently WIFI only, so no 3G yet. Internal storage is only 512MB - so you will need a micro SD card with this device. I'm not sure why more storage space wasn't included, but personally I save everything onto SD cards anyways when applying tablets, so this doesn't make a huge difference.
General: 3.5/5

This is really a great new next generation tablet worth each penny, albeit not quite a flawless unit. I would recommend it to friends or anyone looking for a speedy tablet for travel or daily mobile productivity/leisure. This is actually a nice & simple device, with quite little learning curve and easy to operate. Not for the hardcore tech enthusiasts, however.

This tablet is has proved itself useful to me over and over again during my travels. I never leave it behind, and it always delivers everything I need into the palm of my hand. Recommended.
