    • 1). Sweep dirt particles from the floor joint, using a coarse plastic brush.

    • 2). Wash the concrete floor joint with a water-based degreaser. Thoroughly scrub the joint clean with steel wool. Rinse the joint with a mop. This is critical, as many adhesion problems are due to dirt and debris.

    • 3). Apply Krud Kutter solution to the concrete floor joint. Krud Kutter is an etching agent used to make cement surfaces rough. It will effectively neutralize the joint and remove alkali salts. It will also make the joint rough, which will promote adhesion. Allow the Krud Kutter to sit for 15 minutes. Rinse the joint with a mop. Let the joint dry for four hours.

    • 4). Coat the concrete floor joint with epoxy or acrylic floor paint, using a stiff-bristled nylon paintbrush. Hold the brush sideways as you apply. Let the joint dry for two hours.
