Work From Home Careers--It"s Not Just About the Money
Work from home careers can fulfill many needs. You may be searching for one for any number of reasons. The number one reason is very likely income related. With today's economic situation and cost of living, that is very understandable.
Whether you are looking for a career change or a source of primary, secondary or supplemental income; there is another "side of the fence" you may not immediately think of.
A good steady source of income is an absolute necessity for most of us. It is a real "need". There are also real "wants" in most of our lives; one being more quality time for ourselves and with our family.
How "good" is a career if we are so busy for so many hours that the important things in life pass us by? How many times have you ever said, "If I only had "X" many more hours I could..." How many times have you had to say no to your spouse, your kids or your friends because you were just too busy?
That hurts...for everybody!
The problem is we all have only 24 hours per day. Even if time seems to drag some days, there is still only 24 hours per day.
If we can't change the length of a day (impossible) is there anything we can do?
The first easy answer is to find a career that doesn't take all of your time. That didn't really help did it? I didn't think so.
Seriously that is part of the answer. That brings us to one of the advantages of work from home careers so let's have a look.
The way a real career, any career, works is that you have to initially invest the time, effort and resources to get it off the ground. You probably know that. The same applies to a real work at home career.
Most corporate careers, unless you happen to be the CEO, will never permit you to "own" your time.
A true benefit in working from home is that you will literally own your time.
Now I'm not going to try and kid you. Work from home careers take real honest to goodness hard work. But...the pay off is that even from the start you can work your own schedule, when you want to, how you want to, for as long as you want to.
What I'm really saying is this. You won't get a longer day. You will have a "flexible" day.
That my friend is something most people will never, ever have!
The next time your wife or husband or kids have an event that you want to attend, you're there with them. No more where's Dad or where's Mom. Think about it!
Instead of having to beg the boss for just one day or one afternoon off, you take it. No problem! You just take care of your business on your schedule. That's how it works.
A great income in a great company is, well, great! We can all agree on that, but what about the cost to you and your family?
Work from home careers can provide you the income and something more; quality time, it's not just about the money.
