How Do I Open a Form & Set a Value?
- 1). Find the form's file extension. For instance, "MyForm.pdf" has the file extension ".pdf." Common form extensions are .pdf, .doc and .xls.
- 2). Determine what program will open your file type. Be sure you get a program that allows writing, not just reading. For instance, to set a value in .pdf forms, you need Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Reader. Microsoft Word is used with .doc files, and Microsoft Excel, with .xls files.
- 3). Open the form using the appropriate program.
- 4). Look for areas for which you must set values. The method used to indicate these depends on the form.
- 5). Click the appropriate area. This will bring up a blinking cursor.
- 6). Type in the appropriate value.
- 7). Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for any other fields.
