How to Install Single Tube Bicycle Tires
- 1). Remove the old tires from your bike by prying them off with the tire lever. Recycle them at your local bike shop.
- 2). Wipe the wheel rim down with a clean damp rag.
- 3). Pump air into one tube with the bike pump, filling it just enough so that the tube begins to take form.
- 4). Place the tube into one of the new tires.
- 5). Locate the hole in the bike rim. Place the tube's valve stem into it.
- 6). Seat the tire onto the rim by tucking one side of the tire bead behind the rim's edge. Flip the tire and tuck in the bead on the other side until one last section is remaining.
- 7). Use the tire lever to pry the remaining tire bead onto the rim. Pump the tire up to max pressure.
- 8). Repeat the process for the other wheel.
- 9). Seat the quick-release axle of the front wheel into the dropouts on the front fork, making sure to negotiate the disk for the brakes between the calipers. Hold the nut on one end of the quick release while tightening the levered end. Lock the lever into place.

Repeat the process for the rear tire, taking care to line up the small sprocket on the rear cassette with the chain's teeth.
