How to Manipulate a SIM Card
- 1). Buy a mobile phone SIM card reader. A few that you can consider using are Dekart, SIMRecovery and DataDoctor (see Resources). As of 2010 these devices cost around $75.
- 2). Install the software on your computer by inserting the CD-ROM into the drive. It will ask you if you wish to install the program; click "Yes." Wait for the program to install and restart your computer.
- 3). Turn off your mobile phone and take out the SIM card (the white rectangular card typically beneath the phone's battery). Insert the card into the reading device.
- 4). Plug the reading device into the USB port of your computer. Wait for it to recognize the device and install the drivers.
- 5). Open the SIM card-reading program installed on your computer. Click "File" and select the information you want to access. It will be downloaded to the open window in the program. Select the text message, contact or email you wish to access and click on it. You can now edit, or delete the item.
