Is Losing Your Home a Good Thing?

John Healey who is the housing minister of this fair country stated yesterday that losing your home may be a good thing.
This comes on the back of about 46000 people losing their homes in 2009 which is a 15% increase on 2008.
Mr Healey said: 'In some cases, it is the best thing for people who are struggling with their mortgage.
Sometimes it's impossible for people to maintain the mortgage commitment they have.
It may be the best thing in those circumstances.
' The reason this has called such a fuss in the press today comes down to the fact that Mr Healey made an £88,000 profit on a London flat subsidised by the taxpayer for at least five years.
Some of the expenses that Mr Healey had claimed for included £1,317 to replace a door, and overclaimed more than £2,000 in mortgage interest.
A spokeswomen for the Liberal Democrat housing called his remarks 'grossly insensitive' and 'If this is his best response to record repossession figures then he should just shut up,' she said.
The repossessions figure from the Council of Mortgage Lenders was down on its original forecast of 75,000.
However, 188,300 homeowners were in arrears at the end of last year.
Does there come a point in politics when the people have to try and fight against MP's and make them live in the real world for once.
Taking first class journeys at our expenses is also not the correct way to go about it
