The DOW"s Point Drop Today In The US And Network Marketing

103 148
A lot of people are on the edge today.
A few are probably even contemplating jumping off a bridge.
That's ok.
Contemplate, but DON'T ACT ON IT! We all need to learn to see things as they really are.
I don't know about the rest of the world, but here in the US, the media or the press (or shall I say depress), tend to paint an end-of-the-world scenario because that's...
what...
sells.
Almost everyone loves bad news, so that's what people of authority put out there.
Let's all take a deep breath and give ourselves a few seconds to be negative.
1-2-3-4-5...
ok, that's enough.
Snap out of it.
If you can't snap out of it now, wash your face...
go on...
do it.
If you still can't, go to the kitchen and drink milk.
That usually works wonders.
Jump up and down...
run around your living room shouting like a mad man (or woman)...
go in front of a mirror, stare at yourself and laugh, smile or cry...
or simply hug someone you love and say "Thanks for being here with me now".
We see this all the time.
Bad news breeds negativity...
which breeds more bad news.
Think about it for a minute: is it really that bad? Are they going to start taxing us starting tomorrow on the air we breathe? Are we going to loose our freedom because the DOW dropped 4.
31% today? Are serious criminal charges going to be filed against us just because the DOW dropped (I sure hope that's not the case for you now!)? Let me tell you a true story that happened the last time the DOW dropped to under 7,000 a few years back.
I have a client who completely panicked and sold his entire position, believing the hype that the DOW will drop to 2,000 within the next few weeks.
Remember those rumors back in early 2009? Well, over time and because of his subsequent actions after he sold, he ended up losing about $800,000.
Recently, we played with his numbers just for the sake of it.
If he stayed put, didn't do anything and didn't sell, instead of losing $800,000, he would have made a little over $23,000 gain on his holdings just because he held instead of sold.
What exactly do I mean? As of a few days ago when we were playing with his numbers, his portfolio that completely went up in the air was worth a little over $823,000.
Ouch...
I'm not telling anybody what to do.
I'm not giving any kind of advice here.
All I'm doing is sharing a true story.
It's up to you what you want to do.
Let's not ride the panic train.
Panic almost always leads to disaster...
even in a burning building.
It's critical that we take everything for what it is and move on.
Life goes on tomorrow.
I'm not in the position to predict the future, but basing my opinion from what has happened in the past, most likely it's not as bad as they say it is.
Again, I'm NOT offering advise or telling anybody what to do.
We all need to make our own decisions based on what makes sense for us after looking at the big picture.
What's Next? In my opinion, we need to start looking at ourselves instead of at outside forces to help us make our scenario better than it is.
The U.
S.
Government has its own problems that they have to solve.
They can't possibly solve each and every person's crisis.
That's just not physically possible.
We have to step up and personally deal with our own situation.
The way I see it, the Government's role in my life is more on the National Security level.
I'd appreciate it a lot if they made sure the places we live in stay safe and free from disasters like 9-11.
For the rest of the issues, it looks like I have to figure it out on my own and be pro-active and creative...
on my own.
If we live in the U.
S.
or any other part of the world that's not communistic, there's no legitimate reason not to find an angle.
There are countless excuses, but there is no legitimate reason.
Let's say someone's out of work.
If that someone is willing to have an open mind and change his or her mindset for the better, Network Marketing would definitely be a legitimate avenue and option to look into.
Isn't it better to engage in something productive than to sit around for so many months, or sometimes even years, doing nothing but complaining about everything bad that's happening? If someone can't find a job in his or her particular field, doesn't it make sense to think that it's probably a sign for them to change paths and refocus on something that's more productive and with more promise? At least that's how I would see it if it was me.
Now if that someone's not willing to look into Network Marketing and he or she is out of work, that's a different story.
Who's to blame in that scenario? See, people are probably being truthful when they say, "I can't find a job".
Let me challenge those same people.
Instead of saying that, try saying, "I can't find an opportunity".
You'll see your nose grow right in front of your eyes.
Times are definitely changing and we need to change with the times in order to keep up.
If we're not willing to, we'll suffer the consequences.
It's that simple.
Where Does Network Marketing Come In? In my opinion, there's no better time to get started with Network Marketing than NOW.
People are nervously looking for options.
We have a legitimate one to offer them.
Do we really think it's only a strange coincidence that when the world economy seems to be confused and shaken up, the worldwide Direct Selling Industry is growing by leaps and bounds? Maybe it's not that prevalent here in the U.
S.
because we tend to be more arrogant than the rest of the world.
A lot of us think we're above MLM or Network Marketing.
Try doing research in Asia, Europe, and the rest of the civilized world.
You'll be surprised at what you'll discover.
We might even end up finding cavemen and women doing cave presentations somewhere on Earth.
According to the Direct Selling Association, in 2010 alone, the Direct Selling Industry did $125 Billion (that's a little over $10 Billion a month!) in sales in 150 countries with about 75 million people involved.
Those are some very serious numbers.
Obviously, with those kinds of numbers, there's no way any industry could get away with operating an illegal pyramid or Ponzi scheme without the FBI, Interpol or even James Bond himself taking them to the cleaners.
What's my point? Direct Sales is a legitimately HUGE industry! It will only get bigger...
and bigger as time moves on...
with or without us because of a very simple and basic reason: people involved in Direct Sales get paid based on their production.
No production, no pay.
Like I said earlier: It's all up to us what we ultimately decide to do with our own lives.
This is my personal take on today's 4.
31% drop of the DOW and how it affects Network Marketing.
Is the DOW's drop and the current state of the economy good for Network Marketing? ABSOLUTELY! Now, ask yourself what's your take on it.
The answer to that question will literally be a key factor on how your future will unfold right in front of your eyes...
starting today.
