DIY Design for a Brick Barbecue
- 1). Choose a location for your brick barbecue that is far enough from your home to prevent a fire. It should also be close enough that you will want to use it regularly.
- 2). Measure the area that is available with a measuring tape.
- 3). Decide what features you want to have on your brick barbecue. Common choices are single grill, multiple grills with varying heights, warming rack, wood storage, and preparation area.
- 4). Determine the materials that are available to you by calling local suppliers. The size of aftermarket grills, fire bricks, and/or capping stones may adjust your design.
- 5). Set up a scale to draw your barbecue on the paper. A typical scale would be one inch on the paper equals 1/2 foot when building.
- 6). Draw a vertical and side perspective of the barbecue you wish to build on the paper maintaining the scale you choose.
