Are You Sabotaging Your Business Success?

If you know that you are not basking in the business success that you are working so hard to achieve then there may be hidden ways in which you could be sabotaging your success.

It is easy to blame the economy or the weather for lack of clients but ultimately we are responsible for our results. For every company that has failed there are others who faced the same market conditions and succeeded even in the toughest recessions.

Here are some common reasons that can get in the way of you achieving your goals....

Many of us will recognise that we stop ourselves by making excuses. I have seen this so many times when a business owner faces a perfect opportunity BUT there is a reason not to follow through I dont have enough money, I have plans that day, I dont have the time......
My business really took off when I took a no excuses approach to my life and my work. I found or made the money to work with a top coach, buy the home study programmes and attend the workshops and seminars. I knew that making a significant investment of my time, money and energy would be more than recovered over time.

It is hard not to be side tracked by the day to day stuff and we are all susceptible to the law of the distraction (phone calls, social media, surfing the web), but when you focus on the small stuff thats when you lose sight of your bigger picture and vision. Although you may feel busy, are you being productive? Make a list of the major projects that will move your business forward and each day make these a priority in your to do list. These will be your not urgent but important tasks. Then allocate time during the day to tackle the urgent and important, such as deadline driven projects before handling anything which is urgent but not important such as phone calls, emails. Finally minimise the trivia and escape activities!

If you are spending too much time on non productive or non income generating work then your business will suffer. When you increase the percentage of time you spend on marketing and revenue generating work you cant fail to see an immediate difference in the number of clients you attract and the revenue you generate. The best way to achieve this is to be ruthless about setting up automated systems and hiring virtual assistants who are experts in working with solo professionals and small business owners.

Lastly, procrastination and perfection are the fastest ways to keep you stuck. Entrepreneurs who are quick to market with their ideas and services reap the rewards or learn from their mistakes. There are no guarantees that you will not fail (we all do along the way) but at least you will learn from your experience and you could be a resounding success.

Even by making simple and small adjustments on a daily basis in the way you work and the actions you take, your business will gradually grow and transform.
