My LG Tromm Dryer Will Not Start
- Whether your LG Tromm dryer was recently installed or has been around for years, the power cord is the first place you should look if the dryer is not working. The power cord should be in a separate outlet with no other appliances connected in it. In addition, LG recommends that the outlet is a 120-volt, 60-Hertz, AC-grounded, three-prong plug for dryer use.
- Dryers, including LG models, use a lot of electrical power to work properly. Unlike many appliances that only use one fuse or circuit breaker, dryers utilize two fuses or circuit breakers. So if one of the circuit breakers or fuses has tripped or blown, the dryer might turn on but not start, or the dryer may not start at all. LG recommends using a 15-Ampere fuse with the Tromm dryer. Reset or replace the necessary circuit breakers and fuses in the home if the dryer is not working.
- Once you have checked the fuses or circuit breakers and made sure the power cord is plugged in, examine the dryer itself to see if some basic steps have been followed. The dryer door must be closed completely and latched in place in order for the dryer to start. Select a dry cycle and push “Start/Pause” to start the machine.
- Although the dryer may restart once power and operational steps have been resolved, sometimes the dryer still won’t work. If this occurs, contact LG for service as the thermal fuse, motor or wiring may be faulty, and the dryer will not work until the problem is resolved.
