Tired of brushing your teeth as well as flossing them? You might be tempted to skip these habits but you should know that these habits are crucial to your overall oral health.
The more you take brushing and flossing for granted the more risk you develop.
Make sure that you never skip a day without doing all these oral healthy habits.
When you brush your teeth, do not rush.
Take the time to really take out all the particles and make sure that your mouth is clean.
Brush your teeth after every meal or once in the morning and once in the evening.
Use the right toothbrush for your teeth.
If you have a sensitive gums, use a softer toothbrush and if you have rigid teeth, make sure you have a more sturdy toothbrush so that it will not break off.
Make sure you replace your toothbrush every 3 months.
Use the right technique in brushing your teeth.
Hold your toothbrush against your teeth in a 45 degree angle.
Use a slight back and forth motion then circular motion.
If toothbrushing cannot reach the tight spaces within your mouth, you can floss your teeth.
Make sure that you break off a certain length of dental floss to avoid reusing of the surface.
Take it one tooth at a time and gently scrape off plaque that are slowly forming on your teeth.
Smoking deprives the body from oxygen that is needed by the body especially within the mouth for it to have enough nourishment and blood for sustainance.
Smoking also stains the teeth as well as cause cancer.
Avoid eating sweet foods like candies.
They promote cavity growth as well as bacterial growth inside the mouth.
If food is not taken out from the mouth and in between teeth, bacteria flourish within the mouth and cavity and plaque soon follow.
If you have red and tender gums, you should talk to your doctor about it.
Gums that bleed profusely should also be reported to your dentist so that it will be taken cared of.
