At the DiMera mansion, Roman tells John and Marlena about the police activity going down at the docks and the drugs being hidden in one of John’s containers. “Well, if Philip wants war he’s got it,” smirks John. Roman reveals that there’s a half million dollars worth of street cocaine. John points the finger at Philip, wondering how stupid Phil thinks he is to bring cocaine into a port of Salem knowing how tight security is.

Marlena believes that Victor would do something like this, but not Philip. “And you know this because why? Did you shrink him too?” John caustically questions. Marlena argues that Phil doesn’t play dirty like his father does. “Well your professional assessment comforts me,” quips John. A belligerent John yells for Roman to get his hands off of him when Roman tells him to take it easy.

Marlena asks John to promise her that he had nothing to do with those drugs. John proceeds to go down to the docks, but Roman can’t allow that since John is a prime suspect and the docks are a restricted crime scene. John declares war on Philip and urges Marlena to pick a side. He orders Roman to get out of his way, but Roman refuses. Marlena declares that she’s on John’s side if it turns out that the drugs were planted on his ships. Roman grabs John when he tries to walk past him, but John responds by punching him out. “Big mistake John,” warns Roman, who places John under arrest for assaulting a police officer and possibly trafficking in a controlled substance.

John threatens to knock out Roman to get his point across. Roman yells at John not to make it any harder and orders him to put his hands behind his head. “I said no cuffs!” yellsJohn as he flashes back to being cuffed in Rolf’s lab. Roman tries to reason with him, but John continues to make threats. Marlena sneaks off and retrieves a syringe, which Roman sees. Roman implores John to calm down and talk about it. Marlena sneaks up behind him and injects him. An astonished John feels faint what she did, then falls to the ground. Marlena cradles him and apologizes for shooting him full of drugs.

At the Brady Pub, EJ joins Philip at his table and notices that Phil’s not all that interested in the commotion going down at the docks. Chloe comes back inside, alerting Philip about the drug bust down at the docks along with a shoot-out. Steph comes inside and overhears, worried about Max. She rushes out to head for the docks, but is relieved to run into Max. She embraces him and fills him in on what Chloe heard. Max clarifies that there was no gun fight, only a drug bust. Nicole arrives and looks disgusted by the Max and Stephanie embrace, then goes inside and joins EJ and Philip at their table. “Ask me why I’m smiling,” she implores. Did you find another billionaire with a five thousand square foot wine cellar?” jeers Philip. Nicole shares how happy she is that Pookie’s on the mend and offers to buy drinks for the entire pub. She notices how sparse the place is and says at least it will be cheap. “Not cheap enough,” remarks Philip, who wonders how she’s going to afford to buy everyone drinks since she has no money. She suggests that Phil buy them. She orders a Dirty Martini with three olives, then looks at EJ coyly wanting a Dirty, Dirty, Dirty Martini.

Back outside, Max assures Steph that he wasn’t anywhere near the drugs. He approaches an officer and asks him if he knows anything about the drug investigation on the docks. The officer can’t discuss the details and walks off. Max then realizes that he was supposed to be working on the docks right next to where the drugs were found. Steph speculates that Max would’ve been taken in for questioning if he was there. They share a brief kiss before Steph expresses relief that he’s safe. Max hugs her and assures her that he’s there.

EJ, Philip, and Nicole briefly discuss the details of the drug bust before Nicole admits she’s a smooch hung over from partying hard with Pookie last night. Chloe makes a snide remark before Nicole pushes Chloe’s buttons. “So was coke Brady’s drug of choice?” badgers Nicole. Philip tells Nicole it’s enough. Nicole accuses Chloe of already hitting on Philip after Brady has kicked her to the curb. “You little bitch!” sneers Chloe. Philip warns the two ladies to be nice, or one of them will have to leave. EJ suggests taking Nicole to the bar. Max and Steph walk in and see Nicole helping herself behind the bar. Max tells her to leave the money on the bar this time while EJ takes the bottle away from her. Steph is amused by the scene. Max proceeds to head to the docks to see if he can find out anymore. He then asks for a moment alone with Philip. He reminds Philip how he previously tried to recruit Max as a spy and wonders if Phil had something to do with the drugs found on the docks. Philip asserts that he had nothing to do with it. Abe appears and has a few questions for Philip. After Abe and Philip head outside, Nicole and Chloe exchange more barbs before EJ proceeds to take Nicole home for a nice cup of coffee, but Nicole refuses to leave him with the “she piranha.”

Back inside, Steph wonders why Abe would be questioning Philip. Max states how Phil’s company is a major player down at the docks. Steph assumes John will be questioned as well. Max wishes he could get out of there and spend some alone time with Steph. She hopes the customers never come back and kisses him.

Meanwhile, EJ advises Nicole to stop going around town picking fights with people if she wants a legitimate divorce case against Victor. She claims she’s not picking fights. “Can I help it if ninety-five percent of the women are jealous of me?” she retorts. EJ tells her to go home. Nicole cozies up to him and coaxes him to come with her, but he gently turns her down.

Outside, Philip plays innocent upon hearing about drugs in John’s shipping containers. Abe suspects Philip of setting John up, but Philip denies any involvement. Philip is saved by the bell when Abe receives a call. Abe notes that Phil looks worried. Philip claims he’s just a concerned citizen. Abe warns him not to leave town.
