No kidding, bedbugs have greater impact than their appearance.
These critters' bites leave welt-like and very itchy bite marks.
While it is not greatly known, annoying effects caused by bedbugs can influence our life quality.
The effects can be in the form of seclusion in society, nervousness, and economic distress.
The phrase "Don't let the bedbugs bite" are made not without reason.
Bedbugs live comfortably in places which receive little to less care, for instance, in a hotel or motel room, If you go on a holiday and stay in a hotel or a motel, you should be careful about the insect's infestation in your room.
Who says you cannot do something about getting rid of bedbugs attack in the hotel? With extra effort, you can prevent the bedbugs from ruining your family's vacation.
Here are what you have to do as soon as you step your feet in a hotel room.

1. Check for the bedbug infestation - Examine the bed where you will sleep on.
   Look behind the headboard, under the mattress, and remove the linens for thorough examination.
   Search for irregular spots such as blood stains or tiny black dots resembling grounded black peppers or mold.
   Besides searching for the spots, see if you can also find the insect in the bed.
   A bedbug has the same size and shape of an apple pit.
   Give more attention to corners and seams of the bed as they will likely to hide in these parts.
   
2. Deposit your suitcase in the bathroom - Before you are assured that the hotel room is free of bedbugs, never put your suitcases on the bed or nearby.
   The critters can crawl to your clothes and hitchhike to your home! Go straight to the bathroom and put the suitcases there.
   Missy Henriksen of the National Pest Management Association revealed that bedbugs hate tile floors as there are not many places to hide there.
   The insects prefer to live nearby humans whom they can get advantage from.
   
3. Expand to other parts of the room - After thoroughly checking the bed, you should expand your inspection to other parts of the room.
   Studies found that bedbugs can live up to 15 feet apart from the bed.
   However you cannot be too careful about these insects.
   Check for the cushions, behind the picture frames, every corner and seam of couches and soft chairs, in books, under the telephone, as well as the alarm clock for a sign of the bedbugs.
   

After doing the inspection, if you can't see any single hint of the critters, you can safely continue to stay there.
On the other hand, if you find any suspicious signs, tell the hotel staff for immediate actions.
