Installation Instructions for Hampton Bay Fans
- 1). Turn the power off at the breaker box before beginning your installation. Remove all the pieces of the fan from the box. You should have a motor assembly, a mounting bracket, blades and an assortment of screws and washers. The exact pieces will vary depending on the specific style of fan.
- 2). Pass the 120-volt supply wires through the center hole in the ceiling hanger bracket. Install the hanger bracket into an existing ceiling outlet box by securing it with screws and washers.
- 3). Hang the fan on the hook of the hanger bracket. Be that it is fully locked into place. You should hear the fan lock into the quick connect bracket.
- 1). Connect the fan and light supply wires to the black household supply wire. Connect the neutral fan wire to the white neutral household wire. Connect the two green fan ground
wires, located on the mounting plate and motor, to the household ground wire. Secure your connections with wire nuts. Be sure that all wires are covered. Refer to the owner's manual for specific wiring instructions for your model of fan. - 2). Spread the wires apart so that the green and white wires are on one side of the outlet box and the black wire is on the other side. Turn the connecting nuts upward and push them into the outlet box.
- 3). Slide the fan canopy up and secure it to the hanging bracket with four screws.
- 1). Slide each blade into the blade bracket. Push the tab back until the rectangle plastic band falls into the hole on the blade. The blades will lock into place.
- 2). Attach the blades to the fan by mounting the bracket to the motor assembly. Securely tighten the blades with the screws provided.
- 3). Turn the power back on. Your fan should now be ready to operate.
