Organic Treatments for Acne
- Certain organic oils have the ability to bond to excess oils and dirt in the pores and can effectively remove them. The two best oils to use for oil cleansing are organic castor oil and organic olive oil. These oils will not clog the pores and can nourish the skin. They balance out oil production, further reducing skin eruptions by helping the skin not produce too much oil. Massage 1/2 tsp. of each oil onto the face for at least 2 minutes using circular finger movements. Soak a washcloth in hot water, and squeeze the excess water out. Lay the cloth over the face, letting the steam open up the pores. When the cloth cools, wipe away any excess oil until the skin is cleansed and soft.
- Organic tea tree oil has the amazing ability to kill off acne-causing bacteria on the skin, without causing damage or irritation to the skin like benzoyl peroxide can. Select an organic oil that has not been taken from a plant that has been sprayed with pesticides or herbicides. Apply tea tree oil in small amounts, focusing on the active acne blemishes. You must dilute it from its natural form. To do this, soak a cotton swab into organic tea tree oil, then dip the cotton swab into water. Spot treat any acne blemishes you may have on your skin, reapplying the oil up to three times per day.
- Organic oatmeal can both calm redness and irritation on the skin and help heal active acne blemishes. Oatmeal for use on the face must be totally natural, and must not contain any other ingredients, such as flavorings, sugars, or preservatives. Mix 1/2 cup of oatmeal with 1 cup of hot to boiling water, letting it sit until it completely cools down.Carefully apply the oatmeal to the skin, allowing it to sit on the skin for at least 5 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water. You can use organic oatmeal every day to safely treat acne breakouts naturally.
