How Can I Treat an Infected Blackhead?
- 1). Wash hands with soap and water. Don't touch the infected blackhead unnecessarily because bacteria on your hands will only make the infection worse.
- 2). Apply a salicylic solution to the blackhead. Salicylic solutions are known to dry out the skin, which will make the blackhead fall off. If you don't have a salicylic solution, you can also use some freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- 3). Look for pus or for a head on the pimple if the infection has already progressed to this stage.
- 4). Wrap fingers of both hand with paper tissue.
- 5). Push out any pus using gentle movements. Don't forcefully try to rid the pimple of its pus.
- 6). Wash the face with a facial wash that contains natural oils such as jojoba or coconut oil. Facial washes with acne fighting salicylic acid are also effective on oily and acne-prone skin.
- 7). Scrub the face with a gentle facial scrub regularly to remove dead skin cells and to prevent new blackheads or blackhead infections from occurring.
