2012 Yamaha YFZ450 SE Sport ATV Preview
The 2012 Yamaha 2012 YFZ450 SE has shown once again that Yamaha is a contender for the king of the ATV market, not just because they make excellent new ATVâ??s but because they can re-purpose an already excellent ATV and release it at a more affordable price than the previous version with minimal loss of performance.
The 2012 YFZ450 SE has a 449cc; four stroke engine thatâ??s liquid cooled and has five valves plus an improved Mikuni carburetor which will give its rider plenty of power for going up steep terrain or for racing other ATVâ??s on the track.
The engine on the 2012 YFZ450 SE is also lighter than previous models thanks to its lighter cylinder head and crank case covers.
Some of the benefits you will find under the hood are:
Yamaha re-tooled the YFZ450 SE to make it friendlier for even the most casual of riders and theyâ??ve done everything possible to keep it affordable and within the budget of every rider on the market who might want one.
For starters, Yamaha changed the suspension and chassis of the 2012 YFZ450 so that this ATV is as affordable as other 400 class machines on the market today.
They also removed the old school piggy-back shocks in the front and replaced them with awesome air-oil shocks that were made by KYB; many fans will be familiar with these shocks because, they also appeared on the Raptor 700.
When you combine the new shocks and improved chassis/suspension, you will find the YFZ450 SE very easy to ride and downright comfortable especially for long days out or the occasional ride around the back country near your home.
Some other improves to mention about the 2012 YFZ450 SE are:
Not every rider wants to be out on the dunes or track during the day, Yamaha knows this and equipped the 2012 YFZ450 SE with bright headlights made by Krypton and a hard to miss LED break light that will guarantee that it will be easy to spot at night or on days when itâ??s cloudy.
The 2012 Yamaha YFZ450 SE costs $6,799 with a 6 month limited factory warranty. It comes in either black metallic or white with a custom graphic. Like other YFZ models that have been released in the past there are plenty of things that can be done to customize this ATV to fit the personality of the rider.
Yamaha was able to keep the price of the 2012 YFZ450 SE down because this ATV is carbureted instead of fuel injected like similar ATVâ??s on the market today and the 2012 Yamaha YFZ450 also doesnâ??t feature reverse like similar ATVâ??s because, itâ??s aimed at the recreational rider instead of the competitive weekend warrior.
Although the 2012 YFZ450 SE has many changes compared to previous models itâ??s still a fun ATV to ride and something that every ATV fan should add to their arsenal.
