There are pests in just about every home to some degree.
Most don't have overwhelming pest problems but those that do need to make some changes.
Calling an exterminator or doing your own pest control is a good thing, but it doesn't quite address some of the longer term issues that you need to be dealing with since the conditions of your home are inviting pests.
One thing that many don't think about is their dog or cat pet food.
Most people store this in the garage since it's a good place for the normally 25 pound bags of pet food.
The problem is that a wide variety of pests can feed on the food.
Rodents and insects can eat this food during the night hours when you don't notice them.
The solution is to keep your pet food inside sealed containers.
There are many large plastic storage containers that you can dump the pet food into.
Some even have spouts that make getting the food out much easier.
Make sure the the container you get has a good seal without cracks where insect pests could get into it.
The stronger the seal is the less chance insects will get in and less chance smells will attract other rodent pests.
This will help take care of the problem of feeding your pests.
Look for other food sources and water sources in your house that you might need to fix to deal with pest problem.
If you can get rid of these, your home won't be quite as inviting to all these pests as it currently might be.
