I don't know a thing about you, but I'll bet that you want your family to live a healthy lifestyle.
If you watch any amount of television like me, you are seeing all the new health benefits being promoted each day.
It seems like they are adding something to this giant list of things you need to watch out for or do for your family.
I decided that I wanted to get as much green tea information as I could and decide for myself if I wanted to start including this in our diet.
It took a couple of hours, but what I found out was amazing.
I did not know that there are three main varieties of tea which are green, black, and oolong.
The only real difference between the teas is in their processing.
The green kind is made from unfermented leaves and reportedly contains the highest concentration of the powerful antioxidant polyphenols.
We all know that antioxidants are substances that attack free radicals and damage cells in our bodies.
Free radicals alter the cells, change the DNA, and can even kill cells.
They occur naturally in the body, but everything in our environment can also promote free radicals.
Some excellent green tea information is that it has been used for over 4,000 years in Asia.
In traditional medicine in those areas, it is used as a stimulant, diuretic, astringent, improve heart health, flatulence, regulate body temperature and blood sugar, digestion, and mental processes.
As green tea has received more attention, there have been studies done on people and animals in the laboratory.
From these studies scientists have been able to suggest that green tea can be useful for many things including Atherosclerosis or specifically coronary heart disease.
Research has shown that it lowers total cholesterol and raises the good cholesterol or HDL.
There are also many cancer studies that show green tea helps fight against bladder, breast, ovarian, colorectal, esophageal, lung, pancreatic, prostate, skin, and stomach cancers.
All this from a tea is amazing.
Why are we just learning about it now? Did you know that there is also an extract form of green tea that has no caffeine and can be put into a pill form or added to a multivitamin? This is a great alternative to drinking it everyday.
What's stopping you from adding this to your diet today? I know that I went out and bought some from a well established company and they even put a label on the bottle.
The label showed how many polyphenols and catechins are in the daily dosage.
Start today on a new path to a healthy lifestyle.
