Back to the Kiriakis Mansion
Melanie returns and wonders if Philip told Steph about the two of them. He demurs that he and Steph might have a chance of getting back together. “So then last night meant nothing to you,” assumes a crushed Melanie. Philip quietly warns that what happened between them last night can’t happen again. A heartbroken Melanie yells how Philip is coming out a real winner and asks if he remembers what he said to her and how he touched her.
Philip understands that she’s angry with him and asks her not to tell Stephanie anything. She predicts that if she tells Stephanie about their night together, Steph will come to her senses and tell Philip to go to hell. She refuses to back him this time, then encounters Steph.
Ciara’s Kidnapping
At the cabin, Kyle assures Ciara that she’ll be seeing her mommy soon. Brenda grabs him and accuses him of giving the little girl false hope. She intends to head out to the ransom location and make sure the cops aren’t double-crossing them.
Hope is outside with the ransom money waiting for the kidnappers, wondering where her little girl is. She is being watched by Brenda.
Back at the station, Bo looks at the photo of Ciara on the computer and has a terrifying vision. This time, Ciara is running towards Hope and is shot by the kidnappers. Hope cradles her little girl and screams. A horrified Bo comes back to reality and realizes that he must call off the ransom. Bo tries to reach Hope, but surmises that she must’ve turned off her cell phone.
Dean is nearby as Justin asks Bo what’s going on. “She can’t deliver that ransom money. I’ve gotta stop her,” he insists as he rushes out.
Victor arrives at the station and asks Justin for the latest. Justin fills him in on Hope going to the drop off, then Bo took off after her and said she couldn’t deliver the money. He deduces that Bo discovered some new information. Victor wonders how Bo will ever be able to forgive himself if he screws this up. Justin later asks Victor if he was able to reach Bo. Victor says he can’t talk now and needs to check something out alone.
Bo frantically arrives at the ransom location and Brenda rushes off. He yells at Hope to stop, warning her that she can’t pay the ransom. Otherwise, Ciara will die. The Bradys argue with one another before Hope assumes that he had another vision. Bo recounts his vision to Hope, who is shaken to realize that the kidnappers killed Ciara in his vision. Dean arrives on the scene as Bo declares that the deal is off and they need to head back to the station. Bo tries to assure Hope that they’re doing the right thing.
Dean comes back to the cabin, angry that Bo freaked out and called off the ransom plan. He intends to go back to the station and find out what changed Bo’s mind. Ciara has her hands tied again with the blindfold over her eyes and the earplugs in her ears. Brenda wonders what happens if Hope doesn’t get her way.
Bo and Hope come back to the station and Justin assumes that Bo called off the ransom exchange. Hope fears what could happen to their daughter. Bo shares his belief with Justin that they wouldn’t get Ciara back, no matter if they did pay the kidnappers. “He’s saying they’d kill her,” clarifies Hope. Justin wonders how Bo could know that. Bo insists that paying the ransom wouldn’t have gotten his daughter back. Justin begins to question him, but Bo interrupts and asserts that it’s his child and only knows what NOT to do right now. Hope reminds Bo that Ciara is her daughter too and is angry that the one chance she had of getting her daughter back was taken from her. Bo insists that Ciara would’ve been lost to them forever. Hope argues that it’s all in Bo’s head and may have no basis in reality. “If the kidnappers call again, and the drop off point is different, can I pay them the ransom then?” she calmly asks. “Drop off point is irrelevant. It’s about the ransom. We’re not giving them any money, ever,” affirms Bo.
Hope warns Bo how furious the kidnappers are right now, believing that they will kill Ciara if she and Bo refuse to give them what they want. “Can you feel that in your gut, Brady?” she yells. Justin agrees with Hope, in that they must play the kidnappers’ game rather than go with Bo’s instincts. “This isn’t about instincts! Ciara’s life will be in danger if we pay the ransom!” seethes Bo, who theorizes that Ciara’s only safe if they don’t pay the kidnappers. He tries to convince Hope that the kidnappers can’t afford to let Ciara go. Dean comes in the office with an envelope for Bo, who sees that it’s a list of abductions which follow the same patterns as Ciara’s. Dean tries to look like one of the good guys to Bo, sharing his theory that the same kidnapper was involved in the same parallel cases, and it looks as though the perpetrator was only after the money. Hope urges Bo to give the kidnappers exactly what they want, and they’ll get their daughter back.
Hope receives another call from the Brenda, who informs her that Ciara is disappointed after waiting and waiting for her mommy. Hope agrees to go back to the drop off point alone. Bo grabs the phone from Hope and asserts that he’s going to take the five million dollars sitting in front of him and going to pay off every snitch and every street rat he can find. “There will be no place for you to hide. I will hunt you down if it takes the rest of my life! And I will make you suffer for the rest of your short, miserable lives! Do you hear me?” he seethes.
Victor later meets with Stefano and E.J. on the pier and questions what it’s about. E.J. asks if there’s any news on Ciara Brady. “No, not unless you two know something,” replies Victor. Stefano confirms that they don’t, which is why they called the meeting. E.J. tries to assure Victor that he and Stefano had absolutely nothing to do with Ciara being kidnapped. Victor is reluctant to believe E.J., who reminds him of the truce they made. E.J. looks Victor in the eye and affirms that they don’t harm children, admitting that he would make sure anyone who ever took a child from him would die a slow and painful death.
