How Do I Register for a Customer Service Number to Pay My Taxes Online?
- 1). Gather your tax identification number or employer identification number for a business or your Social Security number for an individual. These numbers are required for enrollment in the EFTPS.
- 2). Visit the EFTPS welcome page listed in the references. Review the information on the screen and click the red "Enrollment" bubble at the bottom of the page.
- 3). Read the Privacy Act and scroll to the bottom. Check the box indicating you agree with the terms. Select the correct type of account: "Business," "Individual" or "Federal Agency" from the list at the bottom of the screen.
- 4). Enter the required information on the next screen. This includes your identification number, name, phone number and address. Continue by entering your financing institution information at the bottom, including account number, routing number and type of account.
- 5). Click the "Review" button at the bottom of the screen. Make sure the information is entered correctly. Scroll through the authorization agreement and read the information.
- 6). Sign the agreement by providing your electronic signature. Enter your Social Security number and check the box agreeing to the terms. Click the "Complete" button. Your logon information is provided after enrollment is completed. Follow the on-screen instructions.
