How To Beat The Winter Blues By Learning Yo-yo Tricks

Do you remember getting the winter blues as a child? I can almost guarantee that you cannot. The reason you did not get the winter blues as a child was because you loved the winter as much as spring and summer. What happened? You got older and found yourself a lot more in demand, you now have a job and you may be a parent or spouse. Now, what you have to do is to learn to use all of these demands as an advantage.

When you find yourself home and free from work for the day, why not try practicing becoming great with an yo-yo. Yo-yo's have been around for years, back in the 70's there was a fad or craze, at least in my School. Just about everyone started bringing in yo-yo's and did tricks with them, even on the School Bus there were kids playing with yo-yo's, then like anything else the fad passed or died down.

The earliest surviving yo-yo dates to hundreds of years before Christ walked the earth, it seems they were enjoyed back then just like thousands of people still enjoy them today. A yo-yo can be enjoyed by anyone of any age, it doesn't matter if you are 9 or 99 as long as your have good use of your hands, wrist and arm. Yo-yo's come in many different designs, some are simple and plain, others glow in the dark, some have battery powered lights and others make noise when used.

Besides the normal up and down movements with a yo-yo, there are over 140 different tricks you can learn to do, to impress your friends and family. Yo-yo's are still just as popular today as they were years ago, in fact there are competitions held throughout the country and the world, with major awards presented. Whenever you find yourself with nothing to do during the long, cold days or nights of winter, get out a yo-yo and start practicing some new moves, there's all kinds of free videos that show step by step instructions on such sites as; Youtube and others on the internet. Learning to become good at using a yo-yo is not only fun, it's a great way to help beat the winter blues.
