Kettlebell Equipment - What Do I Buy?
Well, I have decided that I am going to start to work out using kettlebells? The only thing is I don't know what kind of kettlebell equipment to get? Are you like me? Are you puzzled? Well, let's see what we can get, and where we can get it from? Kettlebells come in varied sizes from 18 lbs.
up to 88 lbs.
Originally measured in poods, or an old Russian measure of weight, it is close to being equal to a 35 lbs.
For men the kettlebells come in weight sizes of 26 lbs, 35 lbs, 44lbs, 53lbs, 62lbs, 70lbs, 88 lbs and 106 lbs.
For women the kettlebells come in weights of 10lbs, 14lbs, 18lbs, 26lbs and 35 lbs.
Now if you are like me, I had no idea as to what size weight to choose.
As a woman and a little bit out of shape, I decided that I should select either the 10 lb or 14 lb kettlebell.
If you are in OK shape and you are ready for a little challenge select the 18 lb kettlebell.
If you have been training and are really ready to hit it hard, choose the 26 lb or 35 lb kettlebell.
OK men, it is your turn now.
For those out of shape couch potatoes or those just starting out and want to start out easy, choose the 26 lb weight.
The 35 lb and 44 lb kettlebells are for those that are in shape and ready to step it up or looking for a dramatic strength gain.
The 53 lb weight is for those men who are stronger than the average man and ready to start those overhead lifts.
The 62 lb weight is the next step up for the above average man.
You are ready to really gain that strength.
The last 3 weight sizes, 70 lb, 88 lb and 106 lb are for those of you that have been lifting kettlebells, are experienced, and are ready to take it over the top.
