Prius Battery Replacement

$5,000 for a Prius Battery Replacement!? Why do the Toyota dealers think that this is a reasonable price? Replacing a prius battery should not be as painful of a problem as it is!

I am Andrew and about six months ago I was diagnosed with a dead battery in my prius!

So, now that I have that little confession out of the way let me explain to you what happened, and how I was able to fix this problem without having to spend $5,000. I am not all together a very mechanically inclined person, I haven't spent much time working under the hood of a car, I don't watch racing, and I do not nor have I ever changed my oil myself. BUT I rebuilt and replaced the battery in my Toyota prius, and I know if I can do this, then you can do this.

First of all, what is the problem? Symptoms and diagnosing the battery.

When, and how do you know if you need a new or rebuilt replacement prius battery? That is easy, when you start your prius a screen will turn on in your center console that will indicate to you if your battery is dead. I call it "the gray screen of death" I know it needs work. But you will know the screen if it comes up because it indicates with 3 pictures that your battery is dead, yes the big expensive prius battery replacement is needed.

But it doesn't have to cost you that much at all. I just rebuilt my first battery ever and it only cost me about $500 after everything was said and done. I don't have any special tools or knowledge either.
