    • 1). Insert the card in the machine with the magnetic stripe facing down and your name to the left, or insert the card in this orientation and quickly remove it. Some machines have a magnetic stripe reader that allows you to swipe the card in one continuous motion with the name on the card facing up and away from the card reader. When the card has been inserted or swiped, you will usually be given a choice of languages and then will be prompted for your PIN.

    • 2). Enter your PIN and press the "Enter" key. Be sure no one else can see the numbers you enter. It is a good idea to stand directly in front of the keypad.

    • 3). Choose from the transaction options that are presented. If you choose to withdraw funds, select an amount, either from the choices presented on the screen or by keying in a different amount. Note that many ATMs have a withdrawal limit, and your bank may have one as well.

    • 4). Wait for the next prompt, which will ask you if you agree to pay the service fee charged by the owner of the ATM. Choose "Yes" if you agree to the fee. Similarly, choose "Yes" or "No" when you are asked if you want a receipt.

    • 5). Collect the cash as it is dispensed from the machine. If you are finished, press "No" when you are prompted for another transaction. Wait for your card to be returned if it is still in the machine, and don't forget to take it.
