How to Wax Corian to Repair Scratches
- 1). Mix a bucket of 1/8 cup dishwashing detergent and warm water. Dampen a sponge in the solution, and clean the scratch on the Corian countertop, especially cleaning all debris, food and dirt from around the scratch.
- 2). Sand the scratch using 220-grit sandpaper. Use the rough sandpaper to try to smooth out the scratch and sand the rough edges down. Sand the countertop using a back-and-forth motion.
- 3). Change to a medium 120-grit sandpaper, and smooth the inside area of the countertop scratch using a circular motion.
- 4). Switch to a fine, 50-grit sandpaper, and sand the complete length of the scratch; especially smooth around the edges of the scratch to blend them with the rest of the countertop.
- 5). Apply a heavy car wax to the scratch with a soft cloth. Dip the tip of the cloth in the car wax, and work down the scratch on the in a circular motion, buffing and smoothing the scratch.
- 6). Remove all extra car wax from around the edges of the scratch with a clean cloth.
