    • 1). Switch the main circuit breaker on the panel to the "Off" position. Detach the screws on the panel face by turning the screwdriver counterclockwise. Remove the electrical panel cover by holding both sides of the cover and pulling it straight back.

    • 2). Twist the twist-out on the panel front by grabbing the center of the twist-out using an electrical pliers and gently rocking the metal back and forth. Set the panel aside. Insert the wire terminal side of the circuit break to the mounting rail by angling the circuit breaker between 30 and 45 degrees. Rotate the breaker inward to engage the plug-on jaw on the bus bar. Check to ensure that the wire terminal side remains fully engaged with the mounting rail.

    • 3). Strip the load wire to expose about 1/2 an inch of bare copper. Insert the wire into the load terminal lug. Tighten the wire screw with a flat-head screwdriver to the torque stated on the side of the circuit breaker.

    • 4). Align the panel cover to the front of the circuit breaker panel, checking that all circuit breakers fit through the twist-out holes. Tighten the panel screws using a screwdriver. Turn the main breaker to the "On" position.
