With ever rising global temperatures, greenhouse gases out of control, and rising rates of cancer and other diseases, it is a wonder we as a race have not attempted to address these problems.
Since society itself doesn't seem to be willing to address these problems, it is absolutely pertinent that every individual becomes informed and does something on the personal level to protect our children and the generations after them from pollution and its effects.
This is why all of us should be interested in green cleaning, and what it has to offer us as a society and a race.
Green cleaning is all about reducing our impact on the environment, and at the same time refraining from the use of dangerous chemicals and toxins to clean our everyday items.
One of the most common culprits of dangerous chemical use in its cleaning is the carpet.
Carpets cloak almost every floor in every room in many houses, and serves as a reservoir for dirt and allergens.
It is because of its position that people rely on dangerous industrial chemicals and solvent to clean the carpet, but what people do not realize is that carpets can be cleaned effectively and efficiently without utilizing harsh industrial environmental pollutants and cancer causing toxins.
We need to make a brief word about the effects of chemicals on the incidence of cancer.
Many industrial solvents, surfactants, and other cleaners, especially many of those utilized in the cleaning of carpets and rugs have chemical structures and compounds that are carcinogenic.
Carcinogens are agents that have been proven to increase the rate of cancer in lab tests.
When you utilize carcinogenic substances like those found in many carpet cleaners, you are increasing your risk and the risk of your loved ones for cancer.
As far as the environment is concerned, green cleaning relies on less water and biodegradable substances to clean your carpets.
Green carpet care is all about sustainability and efficiency.
Obviously, if you are using less water and less industrial toxins this will have a positive effect on our environment.
One major issue that needs to be resolved are the rumors that green cleaning isn't effective.
Green cleaning is as effective as traditional cleaning, but uses different processes and chemicals to get there.
For example, instead of using copious amounts of water to flush out chemicals, green cleaning may rely on pure water and heat in order to clean carpets.
This leads to saved time and the precious water resource.
All in all, it is extremely important that each and every one of us looks to the future.
The only way we can ensure the environment for our descendants is to begin taking care of it now.
If you want to live a healthier life, and at the same time protect the environment around you, green carpet cleaning could be a viable start.
Lead by example, and hopefully soon we will be making the changes required to protect our environment in society as a whole.
