How to Diet With Coconut Oil
- 1). Switch your method of frying. While baking food is a healthier option than frying, if you're just starting to try to lose weight, change to virgin coconut oil.
- 2). Take one tablespoon of coconut oil each day. It can be mixed into hot water before a workout for a boost of energy. You can also "hide" it in salad dressing or other foods. According to the International Wellness Directory, you should increase consumption to 3 to 4 tablespoons per day.
- 3). Create a protein shake. Add 1 tablespoon of coconut oil with 2 cups filtered water, 3.5 ounces of yogurt, one banana, one scoop of whey protein, fresh strawberries or blueberries, and 1 to 2 tablespoons of ground flax seed. Blend well.
- 4). Use coconut oil to grease pans, casserole dishes and cookie sheets. It is solid when stored at room temperature and can be used instead of shortening.
- 5). Spread coconut oil on bread and other baked goods instead of butter in your baked goods.
