    • 1). Unplug the dryer before beginning a repair.

Open the lint filter lid on the top of the dryer. Pull the lint filter all of the way out and set it to the side. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two Phillips screws beneath the lint filter lid. Be careful to not let the screws slide down the filter shaft. Put the screws in a bucket or cup somewhere to the side.

    • 2). Look at the corners where the front and top panels meet on the dryer. You will see small, black clips in the crack beneath the two panels. Use a thin flat screwdriver or scraper to push in on these clips. Use your other hand to lift up the top panel of the dryer. Swing the top panel over and backwards once both clips are free. Let the panel rest on a wall so that it doesn't put too much pressure on the hinges. You can now see the inside of the dryer and the top of the tub.

    • 3). Look for two screws in the top corners of the dryer. These screws go through the side panels into the front panel. Use a 5/16 nutdriver to remove the screws. These screws can drop down into the dryer easily, so hold one hand below them as you turn them out. Put these screws in the bucket with the others.

    • 4). Lift up on the front panel. The panel is keyed into two small prongs down at the bottom of the dryer. It will lift up and off. Swing the panel to the right side. On some models, the door switch wires may not give you enough room to swing the door to the side. You may have to unplug the door switch wires or wiring harness on these.
