Campground Review and Description:

Description:

The campground was easy to find. It was a very nice, clean campground with modern facilities. There was a large pond for catch and release fishing, and there was a pedal boat available for campers to use.

There was also a playground area for children. The larger facility housed a great laundry area, game room with a pool table and shuffleboard. The building also had rooms for private groups with a kitchen. Everything was very clean! It's a relatively newer campground, so the trees in some of the camping spots didn't offer much for shade. The campground is also quiet.

Pros, Cons, Attractions and Additional Comments:

Pros: Very modern facilities. Very clean and well-kept areas. Most of the camping pads were quite level and had poured concrete. The spots all had full hook-ups, which is very nice! We were also allowed to have my son set up his tent on our spot without any additional charge. This was also very appreciated! p>

Cons: We were disappointed that there weren't any firepits or picnic tables available at each camping spot. Since we like to cook outside & just generally be outside a lot when we camp, these items would have been nice to have.

Attractions:
Des Moines Farmer's Market is every Saturday.

Additional Comments:
I would definitely stay here again, but when we were there we had our adult children (27, 23, & 20 yrs.) & 2 young grandchildren (6 & 2 yrs.) with us, so for them, there wasn't as much to do as they would like. They are used to camping in the woods or state parks where there is hiking or bike trails. We ended up buying a small inflatable pool for the two grandkids to swim in as it was hot when we were there, so a pool would have been nice. But if it were just my husband & myself, we were just fine with the amenities that we had.
