    • 1). Wash the cucumber under cold running water for 20 seconds to remove any dirt from the vegetable.

    • 2). Cut off both tips of the cucumber with horizontal slice. Cut 1/4 inch in from the tip.

    • 3). Slice the cucumber in half with a vertical, length-wise slice.

    • 4). Take one half of the cucumber and lay it down on top of your mandolin. Lay your hand flat against the cucumber, gripping it with the palm of your hand. Slowly but forcefully slide the cucumber half down on the blade of the mandolin. This will create a long, curled slice of cucumber flesh.

    • 5). Repeat step 4 for each satay skewer you will make.
