Fleas are a nightmare and something that any pet owner dreads (if you don't own a pet then one almost certainly got in your home).
Luckily though, getting rid of fleas naturally is a relatively simple process.
Follow the guidelines below and you´ll be flea free in no time.
Firstly, get vacuuming! Yes, I know you probably vacuumed already, but step it up a notch.
Fleas can't escape the power of the vacuum and it can remove them in every stage of their development, from egg , to larvae, to the fully grown fleas you've learned to hate.
Be certain to dispose of the vacuum bags carefully.
Incinerate them or at least get them out of the house.
Secondly, consider investing in a dehumidifier.
Fleas love humid atmospheres and in fact need them to breed.
By cutting down on the humidity in your house you severely curtail their ability to lay more eggs and hatch more of the little buggers.
And finally, attack the problem at its source.
It's almost certainly your dog that brought the fleas into your home.
Use a good quality all natural spray on his bed, blankets and toys to prevent him being reinfected, and then...
get him in the bath! No fun for him or you, I know, but this is an important step.
Select a quality flea shampoo with only natural ingredients and lather him up thoroughly.
Be careful of his eyes as even natural ingredients can irritate, but get the lather all over his body.
Rinse well and he should be completely flea-less.
By following the above steps, you should be able to get rid of the fleas anywhere from a day to a few weeks depending on the intensity of the infestation.
